1. The Babadook (2014)
Director: Jennifer Kent
This is one of the greatest and most terrifying psychological horror films I have ever seen. It is a very hard movie to watch and there were several points throughout it where I wanted to turn the film off. The performance from both of the leads (Essie Davis and Noah Wiseman) were utterly exceptional and some of the most realistic and amazing performances I have seen in a horror movie. The titular Babadook creature is, in my opinion, one of the most chilling and disturbing creatures ever put on film.
2. Hereditary (2018)

Annie is a wealthy model maker. To the dismay of her skeptical husband, Steve, Annie, her troubled daughter Charlie, and finally her teenage son Peter start to have weird visions and compulsions after the death of their elderly mother. Annie, her husband, son, and daughter all lament the death of Annie’s mentally ill mother. The family tries a variety of coping mechanisms to deal with their sadness, including Annie and her daughter dabbling in paranormal activity. They individually start to encounter unsettling, paranormal events that are connected to the evil secrets and emotional pain that have been passed down through their family’s centuries.
3. Drag Me to Hell (2009)

Bank loan officer Christine Brown is concerned about her situation in life. She is competing with a capable coworker for the post of assistant manager and is unsure about her relationship status. She declines to grant an extension on a loan to an elderly woman named Mrs. Ganush, who is currently facing foreclosure and the loss of her home, out of concern that her supervisor will think less of her if she displays weakness. She finds out that the old woman cursed her as payback, telling her that in a few days, she will be sent to hell. She tries to exorcise the demon with the aid of a psychic, but she encounters several obstacles.

Her Guardian takes care of her by killing the persons in a society where they newly arrived to feed her every night. The film ends with the Girl taking revenge on the guy who bullied her Boyfriend.
5. The Lighthouse (2019)

Ephraim Winslow, a reticent former lumberjack, and Thomas Wake, a grizzled lighthouse keeper, set foot in a remote and perpetually grey islet off the coast of late 19th-century New England as the wavering cry of the foghorn fills the air. The tight-lipped guys will be forced to put up with each other’s annoying quirks, pent-up animosity, and developing hostility over the ensuing four weeks of backbreaking labor and terrible circumstances. The keepers of the pale beacon are then marooned in the already hostile volcanic rock by a fierce and never-ending storm, ushering in a protracted period of ferocious hunger, agonizing pain, frenzied isolation, and terrifying alcohol-induced visions.

When one of the ladies, Dana, reads from a book, she awakens a family of dangerous zombie murderers. They discover a weird assortment of artifacts and curios. But there’s a lot more going on than first appears.
8. A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014)

This is a vampire romance movie. The vampire is a young woman who targets somewhat seedy characters as her victims. A chance meeting with a troubled young man results in a relationship, with whom she is already unknowingly involved due to her choice of victims. Dark and brooding, it’s shot entirely in black and white, and in this case, that works. It doesn’t end as you might expect but the important thing is that the cat lives. Worth a watch but probably not a second time.

The plot is simple and the movie is short so there’s no time for extra stuff but the jump scares hit differently more than anything out of all the horror movies I’ve watched this is one of the scariest jump scares I had my volume lower than twenty cause it was that intense. The acting was really good, they displayed their character’s roles well. I was expecting things to go a little, just a little slower but except that I recommend it to those who are looking for a good night, binge-watching some movies

This pledge was made 27 years before. Except for Stanley, who commits suicide out of dread of the beast, everyone else returns to Derry. Before Pennywise informs the Losers of Stanley’s suicide, Mike recalls their recollections of the events at a Chinese restaurant.

The movie is a tense, violent, escape thriller. It’s about a struggling punk rock band who book an appearance at a secluded roadhouse. Things get ugly when one of the visiting band members accidentally stumbles upon a murder, causing the group to remain trapped by the skinheads who manage the venue. Patrick Stewart appears as the depraved owner determined to wipe out all evidence. Anton Yelton, in one of his final performances, is one of the band members. The abysmal setting of the roadhouse makes the desperation of the band members seem all too real as they encounter this group of dangerous humans and their vicious dogs. You will be on the edge of your seat wondering who will survive. The ending is satisfying.

She starts to improve the quality of her existence. Her perception of reality is called into doubt, though, when she starts to wonder if her supposedly murdered boyfriend was alive.

Despite Helene’s best efforts to save her husband, the family pulls Charles into a room where he meets a terrible end.

Then the Jane Fonda workout tape belonging to Kimia and Shideh vanishes. The neighbors leave Tehran when a missile hits their building, but Shideh stays behind with Dorsa, who becomes more and more uneasy. Shideh discovers that there is an evil spirit in the flat shortly after reading about Djinns. Dorsa will be in danger if she doesn’t find Kimia since the Djinn will be hooked on her.

Despite Bulmer’s cries for help, Mick stabs the cop in the back with a bowie knife, breaks his leg, and then puts the fatally injured policeman back into the car before igniting it with petrol.

Freelance videographer Aaron is on his way to a client’s house where he will work for eight hours. He arrives at a house in the bush, the front door being reached by a flight of steep stairs. Aaron knocks but receives no response, so he chooses to wait in his car. He tilts the camera to the ground, where an axe is laying. Josef arrives out of nowhere and hugs Aaron. They enter the home that Josef claims he and his family have spent many summers in. Josef explains that he wants to pay Aaron to film him for his fetus.

He then admits that he is a serial killer who will let Sara live for the next 24 hours in exchange for her filming a documentary on his life. Sara, who was dubious about his announcement, consents to film Aaron in the hopes that the clip will help Sara’s failed web series about eccentric Craigslist clients gain more attention.

The crew is killed when a large swarm of crows attacks the aircraft and crashes it; Jenny survives by using a parachute Nick lends her.

A criminal tries to kidnap Phoenix, but Shadow scares him off. Following Hernandez’s van back to Norman’s, his group kills Phoenix as she exits after waiting for Hernandez to drop her off. Shadow is lured away, then killed off-screen. The gang enters to grab Phoenix as Norman goes outside to hunt for Shadow. When Raylan, the gang’s leader, informs Phoenix that he is her true father and proves it by demonstrating how they both have a streak of white hair, a fight breaks out between Norman and the group.

After defeating a demon, Buddha tore out his red and black eyes and hid them in two caskets, one in the east and one in the west. An archaeologist who discovers the red eye in the desert is shunned by the public and loses his reputation. Demons possess people, who then perform terrifying rituals and séances in which they summon malevolent spirits. Characters take things from their mouths that resemble worms. During parties and elsewhere, teens consume alcohol, smoke, and take medicines. Teenagers engage in sexual activity, such as the “three-way,” which involves them touching and caressing one another while still wearing knickers. By putting their trust in what they see and working together to flee danger, the major characters show courage.

The murder case that a controversial true crime author is currently investigating may be the work of an unidentified serial killer whose legacy stretches back to the 1960s, according to a box of Super 8 home movies that he discovers in his new home. Ellison Oswalt, a crime writer, moves his family into a home where a terrible crime occurred in the past, but his family is unaware of this. To write a book about the crime, he starts investigating it. To further his research, Oswalt investigates video recordings he finds throughout the house, but he soon learns more than he had anticipated.

Without giving a damn about how ridiculous his part is, Flanery is just going for it, wiggling around like a limbless worm as he fights to survive and witness one last sunset. In a sort of participation award way, it is admirable.

Animal rights activists break into a lab to free chimpanzees that are being used for experiments but get infected with a virus that makes them enraged. The foolish activists disregard a scientist’s advice to keep the cages shut, which has terrible effects. Our main character, Jim, awakens from a coma alone and in an abandoned hospital twenty-eight days later. When he starts looking for other people, he discovers a deserted, seemingly lifeless London. He seeks refuge in a church only to discover that it has been overrun by human zombies who are determined to kill him. He is saved from the stampede by Selena and Mark, who also update him on the horror and devastation that occurred as London tore itself apart.

An American couple travels to India and stumbles into a situation where they think they can be of help, well the girl does. You know the trend. Together, they end up making one of the biggest mistakes of their lives. This is everything horror should be.
